Stella's Bar by Sylvia Sayers

Does anyone remember Stella's Bar?  I cannot remember the name of the pub but it was on the corner of Park Road and Queens Road.

Stella's Bar was upstairs and at the time was quite sophisticated for the late 50s the actual bar was decorated with plastic fruit and flowers etc., the barman was albert, there was music and a free and easy with people getting up to sing.

If Stella the landlady, was asked if she would like a drink; it was always "I'll have a bobs worth" (of gin)

For younger people this was one old shilling or five new pence.
