Character Shaping by Desmond Evans
Born in Moorsom Street Aston 1925.. Now gone. We lived in a terraced house.
To get to it, you walked up entry. A small enclave of terraced houses in a
square. Toilet block in the middle which we all shared.
My Mother lost her sight while we lived there. My Father had one of the first
Kidney removal operations done at the B`Ham General Hospital, by Steelhouse Lane
at the same time as my Mother lost her sight.
There was a great friendship then, doors could be left open, but the other side
of the coin was, no one owned anything worth stealing.
Did these circumstances shape our characters ?.
I wonder.
